Find Attractions & Entertainment in Brisbane
There are over 100 major attractions and things to do in Brisbane, making it a fantastic place to spend time with friends or family. Let’s take a look at some of the more popular of Brisbane’s locations.
The Parklands is a fantastic area for couples and families to spend the day. This area has plenty for the kids to keep them busy! There are areas for sports, relaxing and eating. Also, the markets around here are quite popular too.
Art galleries and museums in the area can make for a couple of days out and about. There are a lot on offer, but some are more popular than others. For galleries, the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art are very popular with visitors. For museums, we would recommend Queensland Museum South Bank, the Museum of Brisbane and Queensland Maritime Museum. These all have interesting exhibits, activities and facilities for all ages.
Sports fans will of course want to head straight to the famous Suncorp Stadium. Hosting major local and international Rugby and soccer events, this is an extremely popular venue for Brisbane. The stadium also hosts major concerts too, so it may even be worth a visit if you aren’t that into sports. The Story Bridge is definitely worth a visit and if you are feeling adventurous you can even embark on a bridge climbing experience!
For a blast from the past and a truly unique experience that many have never had, why not try catching a movie while in Brisbane, as this is no ordinary movie theater. The Yatala Drive in Theater allows you to experience a 50s feel, a style of cinema that many have never seen.
Here there are often double movie deals (shown back to back), but you can also enjoy food from a 50s style diner, play classic pinball games on real machines and then there is the quirk of having the movie speakers in your car. The atmosphere is relaxed and it is something that everyone should experience at least once.
Last on this quite short list of the main attractions is for those that like a break from the city while still being in the city. The Brisbane Botanic Gardens offer a peaceful retreat with its 52 hectares of land, showing off plants from around the globe.
However, it doesn’t stop there, as while you stroll around you can enjoy the skilled craftsmanship of the landscaping and even an arts and craft show located in the main Auditorium.
